I'm a stamping fool. You should see the pile that I'll never post -- shudder. But this one made the cut.
Card Construction Details:
1. Cut 10" x 5" piece of white cardstock, scoring it at 5". Then trimmed one inch off the bottom of the card.
2. Stamped gators. Colored with Copics. Tied twine. (MIstake).
3. Trimmed a 5" square of A Muse Grass cardstock and adhered wtih green side as shown and white on the interior of the card.
4. Stamped gators on Grass part of card.
4. Hmm. Grass cardstock a bit larger than the white. How did that happen??? Trimmed by hand, avoiding the twine.
5. Stamped sentiment. Not easy given twine. Should have stamped sentiment, made sure Grass cardstock fit, trimmed, then tied twine. Live and learn.
6. Added one final gator at top of sentiment.
MOOD WHEN DONE = this card helped get me through a most aggravating day, so color me happy.
Hmm...just noticed that the color combo does not include yellow. Looked yellow to me until I posted this. Ah, just a challenge, not a law.

However, I don't have the DeNami stamps Amber used. So I "shopped" my stash and came up with my own version. Hand cut the elephants (watching Say Yes to the Dress and it took about 5 minutes...).

MOOD WHEN DONE = Grateful

Looks like a 10 minute card but lots of colored shells, backgrounds, etc. Here's 2 of them.
First up is the blue version -- the rectangle is A Muse Studio Sky ink stamped on an acrylic block and then stamped directly on the card stock. Nice, but the sentiment is not centered. Will still use this card.
And on this version the sentiment is centered. Different background. Used one of the Impression Obsession Cover a Card background stamps. These are amazing and include a variety of classic and not so classic designs. Wish I had all of them!

Challenged myself to make 8 Christmas cards each month through November to make up for my lack of cards this past year. If I make 88 cards and add those to the ones I made last fall, I'll have 100 to send. We'll see how much reality matches this goal.
So -- just under the wire, I made 8 of these today.
Rather than detail the steps (since they are pretty obvious) I'll just mention a few points --
1. Chose a very large flower and a large sentiment with a font that coordinated with the image. These complement each other and made stamping the 8 cards easy.
2. The center of the flower has Stickles -- tested out a few colors and chose Tiara because it is darker (gold based with other flecks) and stood out.
3. Practiced with the Stickles before I used them on the cards. My bottles are old and I needed to get even drops or the glitter glue would have been ruined the cards.
4. Made a final test blob with the Stickles on scrap paper the same time I used them on the cards. Set everything aside for the day so that the Stickles would really dry. Used the test blob to check to make sure the Stickles were dry before putting away the cards.
5. Practiced on scrap paper so that the sentiment would fit into an opening in the petals.

I've been playing around with cards that mimic wrapped packages but nothing really gelled until I saw Kristina Werner's post here. (Once again proving it's not as easy as it looks.) Thanks Kristina!
Card Construction Details:
1. 4.5" square of patterned paper adhered to 5" Kraft square card.
2. Wrap ribbon and tie.
3. Die cut tag and cut patterned paper to fit over a portion.
4. Stamp holly leaves, berries and sentiment on tag (stamping off first onto scrap paper for fainter impression). Adhere tag.
5. Add white gel pen lines on card and tag.
6. Need more red. Wish sentiment was red. Sentiment not red, sentiment PTI Chai distress ink. Add red dots around card and tag and declare success.
Mood When Done = for Card? Awesome.
Mood for Mom Falling Out of Bed and Crawling Around the Floor for 4.5 hours = Not so good.

Felt flower adds some fun texture to this holiday thank you card. Hand cut the leaves. Curved the dotted stamp.
Debating whether sentiment should be lower. I say yes, husband says no. He's just being nice however, so his view discounted.

EDITED TO ADD -- just looked at this again. UGH. That sentiment is driving me nuts, nutty, batty, whatever. Consider this the BEFORE pic. Revised version coming soon!!!

Card Construction Details:
1. Hello 3 am.
2. Stamped image from Technique Tuesday's Loving Words, using Memento Black and Lady Bug inks (very careful to keep the red on just the one word... but success is mine.)
3. Added flourish from Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Christmas. This may possibly be an example of "grounding" but not sure. In any event, had to do something other than stamp a sentiment and this seemed like a good idea.
4. Added clear rhinestone. Looked dull.
5. Colored rhinestone with a Copic marker after I put it on the card.
6. Am seriously thinking of cutting apart this stamp to remove the extra "grungy like" stuff after some of the words. It bothers me. But I might ruin stamp. Dilemma of the highest order.
Mood When Done = In a rush -- time to get ready for work!
The oval scalloped piece is cream colored. It's from Technique Tuesday and is much lighter weight than chipboard and very easy to cut and punch. But I wanted it BRIGHT and fun and happy, so I inked it up with some Memento ink. I guess I could have made it a cloud, but I've looked at clouds from both sides now and ok....I am seriously sick of looking at clouds on cards. So green it is.
Colored white brads with a Copic marker, stamped on the scallop cloud and added a strip of paper I found on the floor and the "dots" from PTI's Little Lady.

I pulled together this little bit of love after work today.
Card Construction Details:
1. Came home to find that my Mom "went to the Mall" and had her ears pierced!
2. Listened to the story. Must admit it brought tears to my eyes. "Everyone was so nice and I didn't have a panic attack and I walked really far and I love my earrings." (The holes closed up after my Mom broke her hip -- her first ear piercing was on her 75th birthday).
3. Escaped upstairs and...
4. A2 Kraft card.
5. Stamped heart from a Technique Tuesday Thank You set 12 times on 3 different scraps -- a PTI Hibiscus, some Kiwi Kiss dotted Retired SU (from the frog card the other day) and textured SU orange.
6. Punched hearts with 3/4" square punch.
7. Measured and placed hearts as shown, removing one for the sentiment (From PTI Mailbox Messages). (Last pink heart is perfectly placed but looks off due to optical illusion caused by dimensional and camera angle.)
8. Adhered squares, some with glue dots and others with dimensionals.
10. Colored rhinestones with Orange Copic and added as shown.
11. 3 rows, 3 colors, 3 rhinestones, 3 words, sentiment at bottom third of card..stop me....
Mood When Done = Pleased as Punch
Went downstairs and reminded my Mom that she wouldn't let me get my ears pierced when I was a kid. As she put it back then "Next thing you know, you'll want a ring in your nose."
Her response? "Oh yeah, well I guess times have changed."
