Different Kind of Blog Candy

Hope the title caught your eye!

This is a hard weekend for Katie Renz.  Katie is battling, and I mean battling, cancer.  She recently blogged that her lab work indicates that the cancer "might" be getting worse and she is spending this weekend waiting for more definitive test results.  Katie is 40 years old.  Enough said.

She needs a distraction!

Three Ways to Help Katie Renz and Her Family

There are two fundraising efforts underway to help Katie Renz and her family cope with her gastric cancer diagnosis. 

The first are some beautiful and fun digi stamps donated by a bunch of awesome companies.  Jak Heath, a wonderful member of our paper crafting community organized this effort and is selling these images in one bunch with the proceeds going to the Renz family.  You can get more information here on Jak's blog.

And, Craft Critique (one of my favorite sites) has organized a fund for straight monetary donations.  You can get the information here.

The third way you can help is to read Katie's blog and let her know that you are reading it.  She is quite appreciative of the outpouring of emotion, prayers, wishes, cards, thoughts that her story has prompted.

Jennifer Ellefson at Papertrey Ink is organizing a regular card drive for Katie, a very young woman with small children, who has recently been diagosed with Stage IV gastric cancer.  You can find information about the card drive HERE .

I exchanged emails with Katie and she told me that I could share her home address, using my discretion.  So, I will give out Katie's address if I recognize you -- I'm sure you know what I mean.
