Project 100 2/100: Love Note

Ok, maybe this isn't the perfect card for Mom and Dad to send to teen son, but I'm thinking I will anyway.  It is bright and cheery and can always be tossed as soon as it is opened!  What do you think? 

Card Construction Details

1.  Decided to make card rather than get well deserved sleep.

2.  Stamped heart notes and sentiment from Cornish Heritage Farms Hugs & Kisses with SU Real Red ink onto PTI White cardstock.  Trimmed.

3.  Outlined note with SU Summer Sun marker and colored sentiment hearts and added dots to sentiment with marker.

4.  Added score line near sentiment with Scor Pal.

5.  Added SU red brads.  Found (honestly did NOT go looking for it) scrap of red gingham ribbon on table and colored with cadmium yellow Copic marker.  Tied ribbon.

6.  Rounded bottom corners of white cardstock and A2 Summer Sun card. 

7.  Added Ranger Glaze to hearts and inside of "o's" in sentiment.

8.  Outlined around white piece with Ranger White gel pen.

9.  Adhered white piece with SU dimensionals.

Note:  above description is a lie as omits much trial and error of various stamps and assorted mistakes... However, description accurate if stamper knows the end at the beginning...

Mood when done = sunny!

Getting Krafty

I had so much fun making my last card with PTI Kraft cardstock that I just kept stamping.

Card Construction Details

1.  Stamped a 4.25" square card with Cornish Hertitage Farms' polka dot background. Used SU Craft ink.  Set aside.

2.  Found scrap of SU Pretty in Pink textured cardstock in "scrap bin" and stamped large flower from PTI's In Bloom with same white ink.

3.  After trying out several ribbons, twine and buttons, settled on this button and SU gingham ribbon; adhered with white twine colored with pink Copic marker.

4. Stamped sentiment from PTI Mega Mixed Messages with Memento Tuxedo ink.

5. Decided upper corner needed more black and punched piece of black cardstock with 1" square punch and placed behind the corner.

6.  Faux stitched with a black pigment pen.

7.  Adhered pink panel with SU dimensionals.

Mood when done = Dotty

Lives or Dies? It's in Your Hands

Poor Santa.  I stamped him, colored him with SU markers, then cut him up and mounted him on SU Garden Green cardstock.  The second pic is the inside.

My Mom thinks he's weird, Andy shrugged. Please vote whether he lives or dies...

BTW, Santa hails from Cornish Heritage Farms/Shady Tree Studio's Just Believe set. Love that set!

Very Simple, Quick Christmas Card

Here is a quick and easy to duplicate Christmas card, and I plan on making a dozen or so just like it, but will vary the colors just for fun.  It uses the cute tree from Just Believe, Shady Tree Studios, Cornish Heritage Farms.  I decided to go for a non traditional color scheme of Old Olive, Pink, Plum and Banana. 

Card Construction Details

1.  Stamped tree image with Memories Black ink.  Let dry for a minute.

2.  Colored in with assorted SU markers.

3.  Stamped sentiment.

4.  Put liquid glue on blanket around pot.  Sprinkled white fun flock over glue.  Pressed down with some scrap paper.

5.  Tapped card over waste basket to get rid of extra flock.

6.  Note:  Clean and put away your stamp before #s 4 - 5.

Mood when done = jolly

Primitive Christmas, Starting a Trend, Countdown to CHA, and Survey Winner....

Lots to share today.  First the card.  Every once in a while I really fall in love with a stamp set (I have almost no snow man stamps) and this set from Cornish Heritage Farms called Just Believe (Primitive Christmas) is one of those sets.  It's from the Shady Tree Studios line. 

Card Construction Details

1.  You don't have enough time to hear about wrecking ball that went through my stamp room design studio while making card, so use your imagination and let's cut to the chase.

2.  Stamp snowman on vanilla cardstock twice, cutting out and coloring the heart with a Stampin UP Real Red marker.  Add eyelets, color with a marker and cut out the snowman and glue on heart. 

3.  Use SU spritzer thing and Bordering Blue marker to add some spritz to vanilla cardstock.  Then stamp SU Bordering Blue ink onto vanilla cardstock using unknown but precious gingham background stamp.

NOTE:  GINGHAM IS THE NEW TREND. I just made it up.  If you don't have a gingham stamp, I pity you as you are no longer trendy and it's doubtful you will make it in the industry.

4.  Cut trendy gingham spritzy cardstock with nestability scallop rectangle. Stamp "Let it snow." with Memento ink. Note:  the stamp comes with this sentiment repeated 3 times, but I cut it up so that I have one line.  Love that versatility.

5.  Punch two vanilla snowflakes with a Martha punch and add button from stash.  Adhere with twine. 

6.  Adhere to Real Red A2 card. 

Mood when done = happy. 

Countdown to CHA

Ok, it's 6 days and counting.  I have almost no plan, no strategy.  However, I have a plane ticket, a tranquilizer for said plane trip, an awesome roommate, Lizzie Jones, who I might add is a genuine Papercraft Idol -- so far Top 5 for 2009, a ticket to get in, and a spot in a "crochet your own flowers" class on Saturday.  I'm a proxy shopper at Papertrey and definitely will be stalking that booth.  I have no other plan.  I shouldn't spend a dime, BUT you and I both know that I will.  Any suggestions -- other than spreading the word on the Gingham trend thing...?

Happy 4th of July to my friends in the USA! 

Here is a Cornish Heritage Farms Thomas Kinkade stamp.  This went though many, many versions -- however, as I'm off to run an errand ***, I thought I would post this and perhaps add my Card Construction Details later....

Feminine Birthday

Here's a sparkly, absolutely lovely, image of a slice of cake.  The flowers just add so much softness and delicate details.  It is from Shady Tree Studio's Floral Slice of Cake. I love Nancy's images!

While I used it here for a birthday card, I think it would be lovely for a bridal shower invitation or wedding card.

Card Construction Details:

1.  Stamped image on Papertrey White A2 card with Black Memories Dye ink and colored in with SU markers.  Colored in flowers with Stickles.

2.  Scored lines 1" apart to make room for border image. 

3.  Stamped edge of cake image repeatedly to make a border.

4. Adhered border.

5. Die cut tag with a spellbinders Tags Three die cut and stamped sentiment from PTI's Birthday Basics.

6.  Tied ribbon.  Untied ribbon and added tag.  Tied ribbon.

7.  Took many many pictures in unsuccessful attempt to capture the inner beauty of this card. 

Cafe Time

We've had a long string of rainy, gloomy days and a friend of mine needs a hug.  So, today I hope to get her over to Starbucks for a cup of something and a 10 minute chat. 

I'll use this card to invite her and to let her know I care.  Ok, that sounds like an ad for MasterCard, but I'm serious!! 

This is an A6 size card, a bit bigger than the traditional A2, and fits the images better. 

Card Construction Details:

1.  Copy layout from here and here.  Thanks Mary and Susan.  It is part of Splitcoast's Clean and Simple Challenge #13.  Not sure I meet the test, but it was a starting point.

2.  Stamped mug image from Shady Tree Studios (Cornish Heritage Farms) The Cafe six times with Memories Black dye ink onto Fabriano watercolor paper. 

3.  Watercolor images with Stampin Up Ballet Blue and Only Orange ink pads.

4.  Let images dry and watch Housewives of New York City!!!  I'm addicted and proud of it.  Couldn't find a bigger waste of time!

5.  Punch out and mat with coordinating cardstocks.  Paint orange cup with Ranger's Glossy Glaze, making sure to get pieces of cheap paint brush on the image.  Spend 5 minutes removing pieces of paint brush.

6.  Stamp sentiment from The Cafe twice and cut out friendship and pop up on a dimensional.

7.  Stamp "steam", adhere coffee cups with dimensionals, add brads and adhere to an A6 Ballet Blue texture card.

8.  Ask Mike what he thinks.  Get the kiss of death comment:  "nice".  Remind him that when I'm happy, he's happy and comment becomes "awesome."  Thank you Mikey!

Finch House Cards

I was lucky enough to receive the new Shady Tree Studio Finch House stamp last week.  Thank you Nancy!

I took one look and immediately knew that I wanted to watercolor this image. 

And I did.

Twice.

So relaxing. 

Not so relaxing trying to figure out how to use the images.  I ended up mounting one image directly on a PTI Spring Moss card with a little "tail" of notes from Cornish Heritage Farms  music background  stamp.  I added a little bit of Flower Soft and penned in the sentiment right onto the bird house. 

The other card is on Fabriano Medioevalis paper, cut down to 5" x 4.5".  Odd size, but it seemed to work.

Sparkly Blooms

Here's a quick card that combines paper from SEI's Mimosa collection and a watercolored Artsy Blooms from Shady Tree Studios at Cornish Heritage Farms. I added some glitter to the flowers since the background paper came chock full of it. 

I debated posting it, but if nothing else, you can see how pretty this paper is.  Plus, I LOVE this flower image....
