I made this card using Dawn's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #2. My card uses Papertrey Ink's Spring Moss with Stampin Up's Chocolate Chip and Taken with Teal. I'm not 100% sold on challenges yet, but I'm trying!! As you can see on the card, Spring Moss ink is very pale and almost yellow. I wish it was a better match for the cardstock and ribbon, but I think it works here nevertheless.
The card is for a young woman who will have her Bat Mitzvah this weekend. Her family is in tough circumstances so I hope this card adds to the occasion.

Ok, today's whine -- of course -- involves my mom. Hilda is out sick today so I stayed home to take care of my Mom. She is doing really well, but needs someone to get her food, medicine, clothes, etc. She wanted to take a shower and get her hair done (Monday's activities), so I obliged.
One order after another. "Get a soda and the small green glass and put in in the pocket of my walker. No, not that pocket, the back pocket." "Put the oxygen tank in the car now so we don't forget it." "I need my coat." "Don't turn the wrong fan on in the bathroom."
Good grief woman!!!! She's used to having someone at her bidding. She doesn't pull this with me on nights or weekends, so I guess she forgot I wasn't Hilda. Poor Hilda. I just imagine what Little Miss Depression Girl feels like having someone to take care of her all day. Nice.
However, I'm not all that nice!!! I told my Mom that her "Driving Miss Daisy" routine was not cutting it with me and that she was skating on very thin ice. I think threatening to leave her at the beauty salon did the trick!
If Hilda is sick tomorrow, my Mom will be stuck with Andy, who is on spring break. Now this should be interesting. Andy can do math, but he most definitely cannot do nurse/helper. Part of me hopes Hilda is out again just to see Andy and my Mom deal with each other all day!!
I made another card based on the challenge layout found here at Clean & Simple. Very similar to the card I posted yesterday.
I've almost kept to my $50 a month budget -- purchased a few extras this month -- no stamps, just some essentials. Had to replace the cutting plate for my Wizard and get some adhesive and threw in one new Copic marker. Just enough to do my share to keep my favorite companies in business, but not enough to go hog wild....
My NEW Challenge?
Getting ready to send Andy to college this fall. He had to complete an online survey on roommate and dorm preferences. Of course he didn't tell me about it, but I happened to walk in on him while he was completing it. I didn't let him see me, but tears came to my eyes. He's really going!
It is that whole circle of life thing...it is all good, but bittersweet.
Card Construction Details:
Just a few basics. The top card uses patterned paper from SEI. The Mimosa collection, which I received from I {Heart} Papers. Most of the other products are the same as the ones on yesterday's post.
I finally decided to play some challenges. I used this layout from the Clean & Simple blog, and made two cards as I went along. I'll post the second card tomorrow when I have a bit more time. I've decided that having part of the card's decisions already made can be a very good thing.
