Dear Eli Manning,
Thanks for being such a great guy. As the Giants quarterback, you do your job, often coming from behind to win. You don't hog the limelight. You don't trash talk other teams. You don't get arrested, or make the press except in a good way. You have a wife and kids and appear to be a decent guy. You are exactly the kind of quarterback that kids can look up to.
And my Mom loves you and talks about you as if you are her son. You made an almost 90 year old lady very happy last night. She fell asleep in the 4th quarter (!!), but woke up to see the last play. Confused, she had to call me to figure out who won. It was sweet. When you won 4 years ago, we thought that would be my Mom's last Giant Superbowl win. But, you did it again and she is still here to obsess about you and your team.
To thanks for being a stand up guy who knows how to get the job done. See you next year.
Sincerely,
Someone who thinks sports is way overrated in this country but could still savor last night's win

Thought about your mom last night in the final minute of the game. Love this post, Joan.

For someone who knows so little about football in her own country, let alone yours, I was thinking of your mum when I heard about Superbowl and it's outcome. Glad she enjoyed the game.

Joan - I'm in Indy, and I did think about you and your mom when the Giants came to town - lots of Colts fans became Giants fans for the week - and they won! Glad you mom got to take part in it via tv land!

I wish we could hit 'like' too! I'm so glad your mom enjoyed the game. Wasn't it wonderful to hear patriotic songs sung the way they are supposed to be, too? And some of the players actually had their hands over their hearts during the Star Spangled Banner!

Fabulous letter and I hope you really sent it to him :) . I was happy that night, too... for your mom. Have not been following football and did not watch the game. But when I heard they won, I thought ~ Joan's mom will be over the moon!
