So I've been thinking about the pull to be free of obligations at a time when they seem to be growing. The get in the car and keep driving kind of feeling.
And then I read our fellow stamper Katie Renz' blog yesterday. What Katie would give to be in the sandwich generation, juggling elderly parents with adult kids, whining about her job being too time consuming, her stamping order not coming fast enough.
I wish I could do something for Katie. If you know of anything please let me know and I'll pass it on to others, who I am sure will also want to help.
My deepest wish this Christmas season is that Katie gets her miracle.

Amen, sister. Certainly puts it all in perspective, doesn't it? Merry Christmas, Joan.

What Carole said. My worries seem much less important right now. Merry Christmas to you all.

hi joan - would a shower of cards be something that we could to keep her spirits up just knowing that she has many of us praying for her? i would be glad to have cards sent to me and then i could post several every day while she is in chemo and after. so for what it's worth. only problem is i wouldn't be able to start sending cards until 12 january (i am in england with my family right now but my home is in usa).

It certainly puts things into perspective, doesn't it. I'd love to send her words of encouragement...do you know where I might find her address? I don't necessarily need them posted, but would love to send them directly to her.
Thanks Joan for helping me to realize the my problems aren't really problems at all. Merry Christmas!

That really does put it all into perspective, doesnt it. Right now I am angry at a family member who has done something "not very Christmas-like", but after reading this it means nothing ... I have absolutely nothing to be angry about. She would give anything to have my problem as her biggest problem this Christmas. Thanks for sharing her blog, Joan. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Yeah, this news sucks esp. so near Christmas. I don't think I could be as near positive as she is...I would want to have a big pity-party for myself. Ugh.

Such sad news at a time of year when we are all busy enjoying the festive season ....... My heart goes out to this little family who's world has been turned upside down!
I join you in hoping for a miracle for Katie!

I don't think I have ever seen her blog, but did go there from your link, to read the story. That is so devastating...and it makes me very sad for her and her family. I hope she can fight with all her mental and physical might...and win! Thank you for making me aware of her. I would also love to send her a card. If you all get her address, I'll be sure to do that.
Happy Christmas, Joan and Mike! My problems are much less today...because of you.
