As I wrote in this post my Mom wanted to know what "BBF" meant. This evening I'm sitting in her room reading and my Mom is reading US magazine. All over the roar of the TV and constant pumping noise of the oxygen machine.
Mom: Here it is again. BFF. What does this mean?
Me: It's Best Friends Forever.
Mom: When did you learn this?
Me: Mom, it's a saying that's been around for a few years.
Mom: Well, why didn't you tell me the last time I asked?
Me: I did. You said BBF and Mike and I tried to tell you it was BFF.
Mom: I did not. Quit Gaslighting me.
Me: (laughing). We not Gaslighting you. You are cracking me up.
Mom: See you tomorrow.
Me: Ok, good night...

Love that conversation! This is a great way to remember BFF.

Tee-hee.
I had never heard the term 'Gaslighting' before. Thanks for explaining for me. I am glad you can chuckle along with your mom, because when these same things happen between my DH and me I want to pull my hair out!

Thanks for the grin this morning. Your mom can be a real hoot when she wantstabe. I feel so o.u.t. of it for not having known that term. But you D.C. types are always ahead of the curve. Even the lawyers. (DH is one of the latter but we are only state politicos and he is usually the last to know about anything hip. Love him anyway.) xox

Please ask your mom to explain what the heck "gaslighting" is. I know BFF, but gaslighting has got me stumped. Am I too young?? ;o)

I remember Gaslight being on the "Million Dollar Movie"! That was back in the mid-fifties, boy, does that make me feel my age. Your mom is a hoot, TFS.

Oh, Joan, thanks for the good laugh and the new definition! My mother and I love old movies. I learned Roman Numerals when I had chicken pox(1st grade!) by watching movies and seeing what year it was made in...this brought back wonderful memories. Tell your mom thanks!
Today was my 'time' with my MIL...I thought of you!

I was thinking about this post this morning (weird huh) when a thought popped into my head that maybe (mom) did read it as BBF as that could stand for Best Buds Forever!
Still this whole thing has been hilarious to read about.
