Edited to Add: This post is now closed. Random Number Generator picked number 24. I counted down, ignoring a duplicate post and anyone who did not want to enter the contest and came up with Latisha! I've already sent Latisha an email.
Thanks to everyone who shared ideas for stamp sets. It seems that many of you want sentiments and boy/teen sets!
Let's get to the Giveaway Details first...
1. Would you like the Waltzingmouse Peace & Plenty set? (This is a gift from me, not WM). I just love the images and the sentiment, Wishing You Peace and Plenty, tugs at me. I need to pull out this set more!
2. Post a comment on this post by Friday November 13th at 5 pm ET and let me know what you would like to see in a stamp set.
3. Open to anyone. If you do not leave your email address or do not contact me within 48 hours of notification that you won, I'll move on to the next winner. Once I have a winner, I'll place the order with WM and the set will come directly from Northern Ireland! I love the internet!
4. I will use random # generator to pick the winner.
Can't wait to read what you want in a stamp set. This should be fun...
Card Construction Details:
1. Stamped the oak leaf cluster (we have about 10 million of these on our front lawn now) repeatedly on PTI Kraft paper with Memento Tuxedo ink.
2. Colored in clusters with Copic markers. Hint: Kraft paper is more forgiving than white if you don't have the greatest coloring/blending skills.
3. Stamped 5 images from WM Very Vintage Labels Four on Kraft cardstock. Die cut them and set aside.
4. Fast forward through 4 false starts on what to do next...
5. Stamped sentiments from PTI's last free anniversary set on 5 die cuts. These sentiments fit perfectly into die stamped with the Labels Four set. Decided to go with the one you see. Set aside others for future brilliant work.
6. Colored label with a skin colored Copic marker and colored edge with orange and red Copic markers and sponged with Ranger Tea Dye distress ink.
7. Sponged leaf panel with same Tea ink. Punched corners.
8. Added some ribbon (from my last post). It is beige with orange trim and thought it would look good. Mounted layer on pumpkin cardstock. Added Ruby Red Liquid Pearls to corners of Pumpkin layer.
9. Something needed. Added white gel pen to outside of leaves. Forgot about Liquid Pearls and crushed them with my hand.
10. Gave my Mom her nubulizer treatment and cursed stupidity of ruining card.
11. Carefully removed the edges of the pumpkin cardstock layer and took off ribbon.
12. Replaced ribbon with black gingham. Much better.
13. Matted on Black cardstock. Made note: running out of black and kraft cardstocks!
14. Added to white A2 card. Added label die to center of card with dimensionals, after first putting in some black brads.
Mood when done = happy with card. Grateful to have peace & plenty (the set and the real peace and the plenty, in no small part due to Veterans).
If you'd like to read more about Project 100, please continue! Otherwise, get stampy!
As most of you know, Project 100 was my attempt to make 100 cards to send to my son during his first year of college. Well, I'm modifying Project 100. I don't have that much stamping time and more importantly, I'm not sure getting that many cards from Mom is a healthy thing. So, Project 100 is still to make 100 cards for my son, but I'll be spreading out the project beyond his first year in college.
The fun thing about the project is that I really think about him when making the cards (**missing**), and it has forced me to make many masculine cards. One of my readers suggested I add a label to the Project 100 cards so that she could click and find all the masculine cards in one place. So I did that and it is fun for me to look at them. If you ever need some inspiration for masculine, I hope you found this a good resource to at least get your brain moving in the right direction.
And yes, my son appears to enjoy getting these!

Beautiful card! You are really inspired and inspiring! What would I love to see in a stamp set- oh my goodness what a hard question for this early hour!!!! I must say I like versatility in a set - the ability to make many different looks/seasons/reasons with a single set. I do not own any WM sets but they all seem to fit this category! I love sentiments in sets- especially ones that can be used inside and outside of a card! Project 100 is fun to follow and I like the idea of tagging it so it can be found all together!

I'd love to have a stamp set with the same sentiments in a few different fonts - a few happy birthdays, a few thank yous, to set different moods on a card.
Thank you for the inspiration and your wonderfully droll commentary on daily life - I love it!

What a beautiful card! Love the colors you used - it is so evocative of this time of the year. As for stamp sets, I'd love to have a set that is versatile for all basic occasions. I'm bad enough about remembering what I have (even though I made a image book), that I tend to forget about some of my sets. If there were a set (good quality) that hit all the major occasions, I'd be one happy girl.

Pretty card! I smushed some liquid pearls the other day, too. I can feel your pain. So happy that Andy is enjoying the cards as much as we are. I love calligraphy and always enjoy seeing sentiments in a flourished script. I would like the word "remembering" in a set and I like the stamps that coordinate with the nestabilities, as they are my thing lately. I have so many stamps already, however the Waltzingmouse stuff makes me drool. I'd wash the peace and plenty after slobbering and before stamping you a proper thank you if I won.

I think masculine sets are always a great thing to find ... I especially love great quotes and sayings. Thanks for the chance to win these very cool stamps.

Hmmm, This is a difficult questions, because it seems practically everything has been covered somehow in a stamp set. I like background stamps and masculine stamps. Not so much flowery. It seems there are hundreds of flower stamps. Something different.

Gorgeous card! Love the back ground for it. I would love to see a stamp set that has great back ground stamps as well as one large focal stamp. I also love sentiments with many fonts to fit my mood. Basically I want it ALL!!! LOl

This card is gorgeous! Dont you hate it when you forget things like liquid pearls or stickles? UGH! I dont even know how many cards I have ruined. Sometimes I ruin more then one by stacking them or something.
Posted by: Michele aka Derbylea | November 11, 2009 at 08:32 AM
Love this card! I'd love to see mixed sets with LOTS of various sentiments (and mixed fonts) and good focal images.
Posted by: Wendy (songbirdwc) | November 11, 2009 at 08:38 AM
Love it! But your descriptions always bring your cards to life, maybe its because I identify with your process!
At the moment I am loving stamp sets that are coordinating with other products I have or maybe don't have and can give the illusion that I do have. Oh dear, that was clear as mud wasn't it?
Posted by: Petal | November 11, 2009 at 08:55 AM
I would love to see images that can be focal points or made into backgrounds (sort of like these oak leaves) and something for every season. Thanks for the chance to win!

I have been loving everything that Claire has created. She has a fresh look and feel. I would love to see what she can do with a little girl or boy stamp set. As a stamping mother of two, I need to make a lot of birthday cards for kids. They don't all appreciate flowers and wise sentiments.
Posted by: Juanita | November 11, 2009 at 09:39 AM
I love reading your descriptions of card making. I always swore that I was that only one who had to take more than one try to get it right (and obviously, that does not always happen)
Thanks for putting all the masculine cards in one spot!! Yippee!! With a household of men (even the dang dog is male!) I'm always looking for some "male inspiration"
As for what I'm looking for in a stamp set. Hmmmm......MALE TWEEN sets!!! Seriously!! I've almost resorted to drawing stuff myself! There is just very few stamp sets out there that address this group (actually, there is very few ANYTHING for this group!)
Also....SNARKY stamps....it is always "sweet" to send a thoughtful card...but HELLO!! Hallmark makes mucho moolah from Maxine and there is a reason for that!!

This is a very lovely card. I will make use of some of your details.
What do I want in a set? Seasonal versatility in both images and sentiments.
Posted by: Beverly Bishop | November 11, 2009 at 09:56 AM
Great card! Thanks for the details. As for stamp set ideas . . . I'm always looking for great sentiments in fabulous fonts. I especially like sentiment sets made for the cover and inside. Also, small scaled background stamps, like Claire's grid stamp in "Off Beat Backgrounds", but larger. I could never line up that small strip perfectly enough repeatedly for a card size piece. That grid in a negative format would be wonderful! And a small gingham, basketweave, ledger, etc. There are lots of background stamps in the market, but not in the smaller scale this card maker prefers.
Thanks much for asking!
Hugs,
Colleen

Beautiful card. I love the colors, the oak leaf cluster with the acorns, just all of it. As for a stamp set, well, I love how Waltzing Mouse has a slightly different turn of phrase when expressing various sentiments, so I'd love to see more sentiments that are not the typical U.S. way of saying things, maybe along with various decorative elements. Thanks for being so generous!
Posted by: AnneSATX | November 11, 2009 at 10:11 AM
Another beautiful card! I would like to see more variety in sentiments, like sets with sentiments for several occasions *and* that incorporate beautiful typography. Thanks for the chance to win!
Posted by: Mary H. | November 11, 2009 at 10:24 AM
Fabulous card Joan - as always. As for what I would like to see in a stamp set, I'm always looking for sentiments for the INSIDE of my cards. I have a few, but the font always seems too small.
Posted by: Barb N | November 11, 2009 at 10:25 AM
I adore Claire's images! I particularly like the bucolic feel to this oak leaf image. I would love to see a collection of sentiments in assorted fonts. Another preference of mine are stamps that are pre-cut, regardless if they are acrylic or the cling variety. It is physically painful to have to trim rubber myself with these arthritic hands.

Beautiful card Joan! I was actually thinking the other day that I need more sentiment sets. I thought I had several, but maybe I got tired of them and sold them ;)
Posted by: Tracy Durcan | November 11, 2009 at 11:43 AM
I love your card! And I don't have any WM sets yet, and Sat. is my birthday!!! So here's to getting lucky!!! :D
I would love to see a set with real looking cows, or real looking cats~~(yes, I love critters)...but I pretty much like EVERYTHING!
Have a good "rest of the week"!

Darling card! I would love to see more sentiments that work for young children or teens. Thanks so much for the chance to win!!

I think your copic coloring skills are great. Thanks for the tip about coloring on kraft. This looks like a very cute stamp set and that is so generous of you to give it away.

I would like to see a set with some good images and well rounded all occasion sentiments. I love me some WM!!
Posted by: Latisha | November 11, 2009 at 01:31 PM
Great card! What I like in a stamp set is several image stamps and several sentiment images. What I like about this particular set is that the sentiments are very versatile. And I *love* the shaker basket image!
Posted by: Toni Whitnell | November 11, 2009 at 02:01 PM
Beautiful card Joan! I really like sentiments, so a sentiment stamp set, and I also like having stamps that coordinate with punches - particularly label punches, so more of those :-)
Posted by: Anne S | November 11, 2009 at 02:29 PM
Love the card and that is a wonderful stamp set. I really like the sets with the stamps that match some Nestabilities, that's an excellent idea. The ones WM has so far are on my when-the-DH-goes-back-to-work wish list. I'd like to see more stamps with verses for the inside of cards, maybe mix and matchable ones somehow. And some humorous one as well.
Posted by: Jackie | November 11, 2009 at 03:21 PM
Love the card. I would like to see a stamp set that has a combination of random shapes and images of things such as flowers, leaves, etc. I especially love the vintagey look and often use these images in my collages.
Posted by: Shawn K. | November 11, 2009 at 03:45 PM
Another great card! Your blog is so entertaining. I love sentiments - especially ones that use different fonts in the same sentiment. I also love flowers:)
Posted by: Lynette | November 11, 2009 at 04:30 PM
Lovely card! Something I have always wanted to see in a stamp set is (are?) names of flowers - just flower names, in a simple font.
Posted by: Renee K | November 11, 2009 at 04:32 PM
your card is wonderful!
I am always into coffee and tea sets! can never get enough of them, as they are perfect for guys and gals! :) plus I am just a coffee addict! grins!

Thanks for the chance to win a gorgeous set! I tend to pick images which are "classic" in design, those I can use for several projects and which have a timeless theme. Vintage images are among my favorites!
Posted by: C Burke | November 11, 2009 at 11:12 PM
What a beautiful set! What would I like in a stamp set? I like stamps that can work well both as a focal image, a background image, and an envelope stamp. I don't ask much do I? I have a few stamp cubes (Sunshine Designs) that fit this description and I find I turn to them all the time.
Posted by: Karen | November 11, 2009 at 11:27 PM
Lovely card, Joan! As for a stamp set, that's a tough question. The big void in my stamp collection is boy stamps, especially for boys 8-18. I'm not sure what stamps I'd put in there, though Maybe some video games, sports, music, or maybe just some fart jokes? :) Thanks for the chance to win!
Posted by: michelle | November 11, 2009 at 11:51 PM
Beautiful card, Joan. I would like a stamp set with more ideas for birthdays besides cake. I send out a lot of birthday cards and need something different.
Posted by: Louise | November 11, 2009 at 11:54 PM
Wonderful card- love that oak leaf cluster! I would like more inside sentiments for my cards, particularly birthdays for adults. Most inside sentiments are too cute for adult males, so all they get is happy b'day. And other masculine ideas besides cars, sports and hunting.

Gorgeous Fall card! - Well I'm glad that I'm not the only one who "ruins" cards (or parts of them). Today I smashed all the beads on a card running it through the Cuttlebug after they were glued on and it ripped the paper too so I had to start all over.
I love all kinds of things in stamps but I love sets that are versatile enough to use for more then one occasion. Plus good sentiment sets.
Posted by: Ida | November 12, 2009 at 01:24 AM
I love this fall card! Would you please send some fall weather to Florida? I'm tired of hot. As far as stamps, I would love more sentiments for the inside of cards. And they shouldn't be tiny! When I make a birthday card (or wedding or sympathy), I make it bigger than A2--but too many stamps are too tiny.

Great card again Joan. Please do not enter my name in your contest. I just wanted to leave you a comment and say hey! As for a stamp set......There is not one thing that I would want in yet another stamp set. With all of the stamp compnaies out here I think they have it pretty well covered.:) Hope you are having a good week.

Great card ~ and of course, always a pleasure to read your commentary... I had a little incident with Stickles just today ~ card was done & I stood it to admire my work & oops ~ not a level surface & it makes a face plant ~ of course the Stickles weren't dry (luckily, I was able to quickly wipe them up & added more ~ so no real harm...)
What I'd like to see in a stamp set ~ um, probably more masculine sets (other than the cars, boats, hunting) maybe something geared towards the tweens/teens...

It's a great card!
I'm glad to hear Andy is enjoying receiving his cards but also glad that you've extended the time period - so he can enjoy them for longer!
I would agree with those that have gone with versatility. But looking at WM stamps and how they are used - they are pretty versatile! I also like their wide range of sentiments. I'm not all that original with what to put inside a card, I need help!
Posted by: Sandra K | November 12, 2009 at 05:14 AM
A perfect card for the season, Joan. Very nice indeed! I love versatility in a stamp set and I never seem to have the sentiment I want. I love sentiments that hit many different occasions.

Well Joan,
I must say that 100 cards for your son sounds like an ambitious project to underake, but it SO sounds like a "mom thing" to want to do when her chick first leaves the nest. Surprisingly for me, the Senior year of HS was harder for me than thoughts of the 6 hour drive to the college my fledgling was taking the following Autumn.
In any event, the knowlege that "home" is only as far away as the mailbox, helps both sender and recipient, so best of luck with all your inspirations and shares with us in blogland.
As for the stamps you used in today's card--what is there left to say, except that there are some mighty special designs coming from Claire's clever mind. I haven't gotten this set yet, but she is fast becoming one of those "I WANT EVERYTHING SHE CREATES!" It would not be imprecise for me to express that sentiment to anyone who has visited her site.
Good to see the masculine side in your cards lately. Today is my son's birthday (Whoa Nellie, how can that be? HE is 40 and I am only "38 and practicing for 39"?) and it was brought home to me how much we need to see more 'guy' cards.
Keep up the good work! :)

Beautiful card - love the white gel-pen accents!
Since I collect miniature tea sets, I would like to see a tea set set with all the pieces of a regular tea set, without flowers sticking out of the cups and/or small animals having a tea party - LOL!
Posted by: Penny Blair | November 12, 2009 at 08:31 AM
Lovely card! I would love a stamp set with inspirational, non
religious quotes (with artistic fonts) from poems or famous people. I love to use quotes on my handmade cards.
Posted by: Judy | November 12, 2009 at 09:42 AM
I love the white accents on your card! I would love to have a general Asian-inspired set (not something country-specific). Thanks for tagging your project 100 cards. I, too, struggle with the masculine cards, so it will be great to have these in 1 place.
Posted by: Lori Hofferbert (loricabo) | November 12, 2009 at 10:52 AM
Love your cards and irrevrent humor! The white gel detail really made the card special. Love that. As for what I'd like to see in stamp set? Well, it's not the stamps per se. I'd love it if sets came with 2 or 3 specific card samples pictured on the packaging! Yep, I am that creatively challenged!
Posted by: Ann | November 12, 2009 at 11:28 AM
What a great card!! I would love to see a stamp set that has ALL kinds of "happy birthday" sentiments. Only "happy birthday" in all different sizes and fonts for ALL kinds of cards! THAT would be a go-to set!!

Hi Joan,
Beautiful card, and I've so enjoyed all these kraft cards. A great idea for masculine cards.
What I'm missing is more people stamps, but without the whimsey of so many companies, or the collage-driven people with bodies made of birdcages, etc.
