I've always loved the idea of welcoming a new life into the world, as if we were laying out the red carpet, or in this case, a cuddly pink blanket. So when I saw the sentiments and this amazing baby image in Waltzingmouse Stamps Celtic Heritage set, I was hooked.
Card Construction Details
1. Put on awful new "for close work and computer only glasses." Apparently, bifocals aren't good enough. Have to switch glasses for close work and be grateful. Hope headaches disappear.
2. Stamped adorable baby with Onyx Versafine ink onto PTI white paper.
3. Ditto with the sentiments, which I stamped separately.
4. Colored image with SU Pretty in Pink marker. Rejected idea to add twinkle dots to baby's blanket.
5. Matted image onto SU Pretty in Pink cardstock and adhered with dimensionals and then repeated process with SU Cardstock Vellum (love this product!!). Vellum perfect addition to baby card.
6. Covered front of white A2 card with retired SU patterned paper. Adhered vellum with more dimensionals.
7. Will give card to fellow NY Giant fan at work, whose wife had baby girl this week.
Mood When Done = Desirous of of holding (someone else's) baby. Oh, and a tad headachy.

A beautiful card. The new parents will treasure it.

Sweet, precious, cuddly. I love baby cards, and this card is particularly adorable. About the glasses thing: this past year, I could barely correct papers; however, I am way too young to need reading glasses. You know the whole aging eyes thing? It's a completely hideous idea which I hate. And I refuse to succomb to reading glasses. Next year, I will not allow my students to use such tiny handwriting. And I think we should all stand together in refusing to allow stamp companies to design such tiny details on their cards. My eyes focus fine, the world is using ridiculously minute detail and tiny print and they should all stop.

very cute image, like the touch of the vellum too!
I had a heck of a time with seeing to pry apart some brads the other day and was thinking maybe I needed an update on my bifocals but maybe I just need a little something stronger while cardmaking too :)

This is just TOOOOOO cute (and it's pink....something that I cannot figure out how to use well!)
(I have to say that I'm soooo glad that I'm at that stage in life where I can decide if I want to hold (someone else's) baby or not), hehe
