Yesterday I posted a sympathy card made with SU's Bella Bleu paper. Last night I made a birthday card using the same paper, this time mounting it on a shimmery vanilla base. I think I prefer this version.
Card Construction Details:
1. Moved a boat load of mess around, clearing a 10" square of space on which to work.
2. Cut and punched with a Martha border the Bella Bleu paper, So Saffron and Not Quite Navy papers, all from SU and glued together.
3. Stamped the flower from Papertreyink Everyday Classics with So Saffron ink and added a sentiment from PTI's Damask Design. Trimmed, rounded corners and adhered to a NQN scrap.
4. Punched slot in sentiment, added ribbon. Fiddled with ribbon for 20 minutes. Adhered with dimensionals.
5. Wondered if I should round corner of card. Decided to quit while ahead.
6. Glanced back at even bigger mess, and shut craft room door. Thank goodness for doors!
Mood when done = Happy
OH, And Breaking News on the LUNCH COUPLE
For those of you newish to the blog, I have previously chatted about a mystery couple who lunch at our cafeteria. He's older, soft and besotted. She's young, hip, and flirty. They do NOT match. However, they are together and my friends and I have nothing better to do than watch the show.
They disappeared for months but were back today. My lunch mates were so excited that one of them called me from the cafeteria to make sure I didn't miss out! What a hoot.
She had on the white eyelet dress, but thankfully did NOT wear her turquoise thong. Whew, the guys were disappointed! He spent lunch literally petting her arm and they played footsies for about 30 minutes. How do I know? Because my friends left me the prime "watching" seat, knowing that I live for these moments. Sadly, I had to leave and go back to work so no chance to follow them outside and see where they work....
I have no idea what attracts me to these two. I'm pretty much convinced that she's going to break his low down cheatin' heart some day, but maybe I'm wrong. I hope I am. I hope they are both single and truly in love, get married, and live happily ever after.
You just never know....

Wow - she must have felt so naked without her thong. Maybe it was in her purse. Lovely card. If I could get away from the computer, I might actually have time to CASE yours before I go to bed :)

They're probably both married and supposed to already be living happily ever after, but to other people. I think you guys should appoint someone per day or week to follow these two..maybe you can find out more..

Could you guys pool your money and hire a private detective? What an intriguing mystery.
I love both the cards!

Well that was anti-climactic! Here I've been waiting for months and months (with baited breath mind you) for another couple update and then youdon't even follow them out of the DOJ building? What kind of sleuth are you anyway? Sheesh! I am, however, relieved to hear that she was no longer wearing the turquoise colored thong. Next time, call me and I'll be poised outside waiting in the shadows with my trench coat and fedora pulled down low over my eyes, ready to pick up their trail.

Believe it or not, I was just wondering about the lunch couple this morning! How bizarre is that. I have no idea why the thought of them even popped into my head.

Thanks for the update on the couple. And -- my vote is for the sympathy card you did yesterday! Not that I don't like today's....it's just that I like the other one better.

Great card! Love the colors!
You should nickname them "Jon and Deanna" for more blog hits. :) Deanna? I think that's her name.....
You have a large readership. Can't we all chip in, hire a detective, and get some answers here?!? :)

OK, you know my thoughts on the card already, so I'm going to address the mystery couple.
THEREIN lies your first novel. Seriously. It's perfect - you have the characters, the setting - and we all know you can write...you'll thank me after the first royalty check.

I'll bet he's married to some poor thing who rushes off to work after dropping him for the train then the kids to school. THen she shops on her way home, picks the kids up from after school care and rushes home to cook HIM a decent dinner. Beacause naturally he had a hectic day sitting reading his paper going and coming from work on the train. He's mad as hell because he had to wait a couple of minutes at the station because she got stuck in traffic picking him up!!!!!!
The girl - well she thinks she's onto a good thing all this attention!! just wait till you're married with a couple of kids girl!!!!
Oh and I love all the cards!!!!! Sue x

Thanks for the update on the couple, although it is a little anti-climactic. I agree with Jenn...you should write a novel. It would be a best-seller. You know all your blog readers would buy a copy. I'd even buy some for friends.
And just as an aside, you never know....strange things DO happen. I met my hubby on the internet 12 years ago. And I wasn't even looking for a hubby. But we are soul mates. Who woulda thunk?
