Made a Wish

VvI started out intending to make a card with Papertrey Ink's Garden of Life set, so I looked at blogs and galleries for something to case.  It didn't take me long to find Debbie Olson's set of cards made with this set. You can see them here.  And I did use Garden of Life with Debbie's layout and made the beginnings of 4 or 5 cards, but then spotted my Verve Visual stamps sitting there, looking for some ink.

I made this card to welcome home my husband, who took a 36 hour trip away from us!  How dare he! I hope to finish my Garden of Life cards and post them later this weekend.

In case you are wondering, this is the same card photographed twice.  I took the top picture in bright sunshine outdoors.  The background came out black.  Since I know nothing about photography, I have no idea why that happened.  The image is a little bluer than IRL.  Then I took the picture in my usual photo spot -- on our fireplace mantel (which gets no direct light ever).  That image is a bit too pale.  Imagine the card somewhere in between -- after 18 shots, I'm tired of clicking!

Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope you are able to squeeze in some fun time this weekend (yes, fun means stamping!).

Vv2Supplies:  Verve Visual Wild Thing and Wonderful Wishes Remixed Stamp Sets; Stampin Up Lavendar Lace and Real Red cardstocks and inks, and Real Red ribbon, gold cord; Amuse Twinkle Mini Hearts; Sakura Gold Glitter pen; Fiskars Threading Water Punch; Papertrey Ink Stampers Select White cardstock; and Marvy rectangle scallop punch.

How cute and pretty!

Just beautiful! no matter what the exposure!!

How gorgeous! And I like the first picture, even if the colors aren't quite true.

This is soooo pretty...and I love the color combination!! I know how frustrating it can be to get a good shot. I keep thinking about a light box, but then....what would I do with my two Ott lights? LOL

Glad to see I am not the only one that has a hard time getting a decent picture. Love the shimmer on the big hearts and the cute gems on the little ones, he will Love this!

Beautiful. I'm sure Mike with appreciate it. If he's anything like my DH was, he will have them stashed away in a desk drawer. I may get to do some stamping tomorrow after doing the household stuff.

Wow! That's quite a difference in color in the two. I took a class on Photoshop Elements 6 and was told that the best lighting is actually outside on a dreary day or away from direct sunlight. Love the card, though. We're not home but will be tomorrow so I'll get to stamp, then. I may just need to case this.

I can imagine it right in the middle. Neat card with the scallops.

Joan.. what a BEAUtiful card ~ thanks for sharing, Pam

Gorgeous, Joan!
